Maggie and Nicky’s Washington DC wedding weekend was nothing short of extraordinary. Over four unforgettable days, the couple hosted six unique events filled with family, surprises, and a sense of joyous celebration that mirrored their love for New Orleans—its warmth, rhythm, and infectious energy.

Their story began in true cinematic fashion when Nicky proposed to Maggie in the Rose Garden at the White House, an unforgettable surprise set against one of DC’s most iconic backdrops. To continue the magic, the couple celebrated their engagement at the Top of the Hay at the Hay-Adams Hotel, overlooking the very garden where the proposal took place—a private, intimate moment that set the tone for the weekend to come.

Thursday: Rehearsal Dinner at The Dockmaster Building, The Wharf

The festivities kicked off with a rehearsal dinner for 80 guests at The Dockmaster Building, located along DC’s vibrant Wharf. Guests were treated to a scenic 40-minute cruise aboard a private DC Water Taxi from Georgetown to the venue. As the boat docked, a surprise New Orleans-style jazz trio led a lively second line parade through the bustling Wharf, with servers dancing alongside guests carrying signature cocktails.

Inside, the evening sparkled under a “Starry Night” theme, complete with twinkle lights overhead, constellation-inspired menus, shimmering linens, and celestial dinnerware. Guests dressed in metallics and glittering fabrics, fully embracing the couple’s request to “bring the sparkle.” The rehearsal dinner perfectly blended fun, elegance, and a touch of whimsy—a prelude to the weekend’s celebrations.

Friday: Bridal Luncheon at The Willard Hotel

Friday morning brought a softer, elegant tone with a bridal luncheon for the women of the wedding party and immediate family at the historic Willard Hotel, inspired by the hotel’s famed Lady’s Tea. Soft pink décor, Tiffany gift boxes, and playful bridal games created a light and memorable morning. Guests enjoyed a refreshing, thoughtfully curated menu while toasting the bride in an intimate setting.

Friday Evening: Welcome Party at the Renwick Gallery

That evening, guests were transported into a glamorous, mid-century modern world at the Renwick Gallery, steps from the White House. The couple’s vision of a “penthouse suite at sunset” came to life with rich golden jewel tones, ambient lighting, lush greenery, and colorful lounge groupings. Custom buffet stations and a sprawling dance floor encouraged mingling and celebration at every turn, perfectly reflecting Maggie and Nicky’s love of entertaining.

Saturday: Grand Wedding at Andrew Mellon Auditorium

The weekend culminated with a grand wedding at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium, one of Washington DC’s most iconic venues. Its sweeping neoclassical columns and elegant architecture provided a dramatic and timeless setting. The design seamlessly blended historic DC charm with touches inspired by New Orleans, creating a wedding that was at once sophisticated, celebratory, and deeply personal.
