Christina and James’ wedding story began long before their guests arrived at the historic Perry Belmont House in Washington, D.C. Their engagement took place at the world-famous Villa Balbianello on Lake Como, arriving by boat to one of Italy’s most romantic and cinematic locations. When they began planning their celebration, the couple dreamed of a venue that captured that same grand, European atmosphere —leading them to the Perry Belmont House, one of the most iconic luxury wedding venues in Washington, D.C.
A Luxury Wedding at the Perry Belmont House
Built in 1909 with a French château aesthetic, the Perry Belmont House provided the perfect backdrop for a timeless and elegant celebration. To enhance the venue’s architectural beauty, the design centered around white florals, gold accents, crystal details, and subtle textured linens. This palette not only elevated the space but also reinforced the couple’s vision of refined luxury.
The focal point was a show-stopping, elongated head table set directly in front of the grand fireplace. Layers of baby’s breath, delicate white blooms, ornate chargers, patterned linens, and gold-rimmed glassware created a tablescape that felt effortlessly elegant — an ideal pairing with the venue’s dramatic red ballroom.
This classic palette popped even more after sunset, when candlelight created a warm, romantic glow throughout the space.

Fashion as a Signature Element
For a bride who loves fashion, photography was one of the most important decisions of the planning process. Hana Gonzalez Photography, known for editorial, fashion-inspired imagery, was the perfect fit to capture both the overall aesthetic and the bride’s curated wedding looks.
Christina surprised her guests and James with a custom blush-and-lace bow placed on the back of her gown. Her cathedral-length veil was kept secret until the moment she walked down the aisle, making the reveal even more emotional. Later in the evening, she slipped into a chic mini after-party dress, adding a modern, playful twist to the night.
A First Look on the Marble Staircase
The couple chose the Perry Belmont House’s iconic marble staircase for their first look— one of the venue’s most photographed architectural features. The sweeping lines, carved railings, and natural light created a romantic yet stately atmosphere that perfectly complemented the couple’s classic style.

A Seamless Ceremony-to-Reception Flip
Hosting both the ceremony and reception in the Perry Belmont House’s intimate spaces required careful logistical planning—a signature strength of Cherry Blossom Wedding & Events.
Although the couple initially considered skipping dancing, they ultimately decided to bring in a live band. This made the flip even more complex, as the ceremony area needed to be transformed into a dinner and dancing layout within a tight window.
Here’s how the team pulled it off:
The band completed a pre-set and sound check in a nearby room.
The ceremony was fully styled and photographed before guests arrived.
Just 10 minutes before the 4:30 PM guest arrival, the vendor team executed a full transformation of the space.
Guests entered the venue without ever knowing a major transition had occurred behind the scenes.
It was a seamless moment — one that reflected both the team’s expertise and the couple’s trust in the planning process.

A Night of Celebration
The lively band filled the historic ballroom with energy, transforming the evening into a joyful celebration. Guests danced the night away beneath the glow of chandeliers, surrounded by florals and timeless details that reflected Christina and James perfectly.
What began with a romantic proposal in Italy culminated in a wedding that blended European elegance with Washington, D.C. history; crafted with intention, beauty, and heart by Cherry Blossom Wedding & Events.
